History and Location
The History of the Süllberg can be traced back as far as the year 1060, when the first fortress was built on the top of the 250 ft mountain. The complex which stands on the Süllberg was built between 1887 and 1903. As early as 1850, the Süllberg was one of the most popular destinations, and its high reputation extended far beyond the city. Generations of Hamburg residents have celebrated glamorous receptions, glittering parties, weddings and family events on the Süllberg. The beauty of the posh neighborhood of Blankenese, the extraordinary location and the view across the river Elbe have always inspired poets and philosophers throughout the years.
